At the beginning of each year I like to set goals for my style and wardrobe, as well as reflecting on the past year. The main goal is to have a wardrobe I love.

I want to FEEL amazing in my wardrobe - focusing on how I feel and not the opinions of others.
(that I unfortunately can’t find again - feel free to add it in the comments) I want to focus more on how I FEEL in an item or outfit instead of how I look. Instead of focusing on external validation, or how I look in a 2D photo that captures a moment, I want to feel great when I put on an outfit. When I feel great, I feel more confident and I believe this shows in the way I move through the world.
Inspired by a post byI want to build a long lasting wardrobe with quality pieces I love.
This ties back to my low buy. Only allowing myself 20 pieces forces me to evaluate each piece, and asking if it deserves to be in my wardrobe. Not that I still don’t make mistakes (looking at the Arket oversized short sleeve button up that I bought summer 2024 and have worn exactly once!).I want to focus on adding sophisticated touches through jewellery, footwear and material in order to create a casual chic outfit.
In 2024 I settled on classic, relaxed and sophisticated as my three style words. Seeing them more as a recipe (Mainly classic pieces with a relaxed fit and a dash of sophisticated touches) and not the end result, helps me to achieve my goal of feeling confident and chic. Sometimes my outfits can end up feeling quite basic or practical, and adding jewellery, another shoe or a luxurious material can add that touch of sophistication that makes me feel my best.
I want to up my style game at home and work on having my style reflecting my style words. I will work on finding pieces that are both practical, comfortable and express my style.
I still want to feel like myself when I’m at home - but a relaxed version. I tend to wear pieces that I’ve downgraded and honestly end up feeling quite sloppy… This doesn’t mean wearing my pleated dry clean only pants when lounging on the sofa, but investing in a couple of nice loungewear pieces, as well as wearing jewellery and makeup if I feel like it.I want to focus on adding variety through texture while still staying true to my style uniform - and thus avoiding complete duplicates.
I love wearing button ups in the spring/early fall and v-neck cashmere cardigans in fall/winter, but it can get a bit repetitive, so I want to try to add different textures in order to create variety.I want to pay attention to not just buying for one season, but having the clothes fit my lifestyle.
This was one area where I struggled in 2024. Despite only buying 22 items, 9 of them were summer items - and I live in Copenhagen, where it’s typically not that hot. Granted some (a lot) of the summer purchases were for our safari in Botswana (fantasy self maybe?), but still nine seems a bit excessive and my winter wardrobe is struggling a bit as a consequence. I need to focus on my every day life and not just upcoming vacations. I’ll most probably need to be reminded of this again before the next vacation!I want to play around with my outfits in order to make them fit my style words.
When an outfit doesn’t feel quite right, I want to play around with different options in order to make it feel more like me. Do I need to wear a more casual boot to make the outfit more relaxed, or will a bolder pair of earrings make it feel more sophisticated? Again playing with what I already have, instead of automatically thinking I need to add new things will hopefully help me in creating a curated wardrobe and keeping to my low buy.
These are my style goals for 2025. Are you like me struggling to feel great lounging at home or do your challenges lie in a completely different area? Would love to hear your style goals!
Love it!💓
Oooo yes one of my goals was actually investing in pajamas! For many years while having babies I wore oversized tshirt and sweats/shorts. This year I’m gonna find some great pajamas!
