When I started knitting, I was sooo sensitive to wool and other natural fibers, but I got used to it over time (to the point that I can wear rustic wool now!). Wearing a T-shirt underneath has always been a must for me — especially since it means I don’t have to wash my sweaters all the time. You should definitely try it! Even when I don’t want the collar to show, I still wear one underneath; I just adapt the neckline.
Also, thanks so much for the mention! My bags really make such a difference for me, especially now that I can only wear my winter boots 🥲
I love your new boots and mules! I’ve never had mules — I don’t know why, but I always assumed they wouldn’t stay on my feet 😅 (which is probably pretty stupid considering I wear flip-flops all the time).
I actually used to be able to wear most kind of wools. But then I started developing a rash and itching for days after having worn a crewneck or roll neck - so unfortunately I don't think that's going to change. But I will see if wearing a t-shirt will be enough to protect me from getting a rash.
I wouldn't wear the mules for walking longer distances, but for pottering around the house or a hotel, they are perfectly fine. I don't know if you're able to grip flip-flop better with your toes 🤔
I also itch easily on my chest and upper back, so I always wear a tee under my knits, fit/tightness depending on the fit of the jumper. Also, I like to see a bit of white neckline peeking out from under the jumper. So no itching, a bit more style and I don’t get a sweaty jumper, but a sweaty tee instead, which can be washed in warmer water. Love your new boots and Gabor is great quality!
I really need to experiment more with a t-shirt under a sweater! I didn't use to like the look of a t-shirt peeking out, but I'm starting come around :) I also wasn't sure if it would be protection enough, but it sounds like it works for you, so I'll definitely give it a go!
The "Near duplicates" category is a really tricky one for me, as it sometimes reveals little flaws in the items I already own that I probably could overlook, but having a potentially "better" option is super tempting. I'm currently tempted by a cotton twill version of a pair of trousers I already have(same brand, same style) that I saw secondhand on Depop and I'm in trousers 9 days out of 10 so I probably will wear them but it also seems super unnecessarily when there are other gaps in my wardrobe.
I can see how that could be problematic! The dilemma with wanting to buy something similar when there're still other gaps is sooo relatable! And I understand how the pants can be tempting!
Hardcore pants wearer myself your comment made me check my wardrobe app for when I last wore a skirt - back in March! Ok one reason is that I need new tights, but haven't prioritised it 🤷♀️
I have a (going nowhere) draft about wearing skirts and one of my "insights" was buying some good tights and socks, because you'll get so much more wear out of them! I think I'll always buy a trouser > skirt but can't deny that skirts can be so fun to wear!
Good tights are so important - really want to get a pair so I can wear the skirts I have.
Re: drafts going nowhere - I had a draft sitting since May thinking it was just dead, but resurrected it and it’s probably coming out soon. So you never know 😅
Love all the texture in your wishlist - that green bag! And 13k steps in new boots is a huge win. Finding walkable yet stylish shoes is my eternal battle!
Now I just need to make it happen instead of buying more of what I already have 🙈
Finding boots that hit YOUR sweet spot of comfort and style is sooo hard!! Comfort was a priority for me, and they don’t make me hate the outfit which was the case with my previous boots.
I love all your wishlist items, and I think it's interesting that you were able to reflect that you wanted items you know work, just with a bit more interest. I do love that green bag!
It's so beautiful, but I actually removed it from my wishlist as I remembered that I prefer flat handles instead of rounded ones. But a colourful/textured bag is definitely something I'm on the hunt for. But it needs to be the right one.
Love seeing what was worth buying for you this month, Sigrid, and also the items that you were enticed by but then the logic behind not buying them.
As a mostly secondhand shopper, I tend to only look at items for the season that I'm in but I think this is mainly because I buy most of my items from local consignment and thrift shops and they put things out for that season, or the upcoming one as it gets closer - kinda like a traditional shop.
I'd love to find a pair of corduroy pants in a brown or burgundy color. I think they'd be a good addition. I'm pretty happy with the state of my wardrobe right now and I think any additions will be items that make my heart beat faster.
I have a few things on my wishlist that I’m hoping will go on sale during Black Friday. Burgundy loafers, silver heels to be worn with formal dresses (since the heels I have are super uncomfortable), and a patterned triangle cashmere scarf.
Also looking to upgrade base layers as I live in thin long sleeves that can be layered over. It’s not easy to find ones that have a bit of interest to them, such as a bit of ribbing or a slightly higher neck that aren’t too warm. I find even the normal uniqlo heat tech tops a tad warm sometimes.
What a bummer about your new heattech shirt, Sigrid. Strange that the pilling happened to that one but not the other ones (or at least not right away?).
Love the mules purchase, very classy indoor slippers ✅ And even for me, living in a climate that doesn’t have much cold, boot weather, I know how having a good pair of boots you can throw on with practically anything can be a game changer; I bought a pair of boots two years ago and wore them nearly every day of the “winter.”
It's a warmer heattech shirt, so I assume it's made a bit differently. I've had the standard kind for years with almost no peeling and none so big. It just seems like such a waste, so really hate buying something like that.
So happy with the boots and mules - definitely an upgrade! And proud of myself for making a second hand purchase 😉
I see, so it is a different style of shirt than your previous ones. Yes, that’s really unfortunate. Maybe de-pilling it can help it look presentable for a while longer so you don’t have to get rid of it right away, or just use it for layering/wear it covered up. And yes, go you for buying secondhand!! Hope you get addicted 😉
Loved this as always, Sigrid. I think I’m also yearning for texture! The crock embossed belt really jumped out at me! I have a similar tendency to browse things that in my brain I love, but I know I already have in my closet— an absolute hurdle for sure.
I was actually just doing it before I read this so this was the perfect timing! I always feel so grounded and re-centered after reading your work. 🫶🏻
And to add on: lusting lately— holiday attire that is super blingy! But the problem I have to keep reminding myself of is that we really don’t go anywhere fancy! Sure I could wear it around the house, but that won’t always be what I reach for when the time comes!
First, it means the world to me that my reading makes you feel that way! Sometimes I can get caught up in my head and start to wonder if it actually matters what I put out there. So I truly appreciate you!!!
Second, doing my best to avoid the temptation of complete duplicates, but it's a struggle!! Not promising anything :D
Third, holiday attire, bling - so easy to get caught up in! I'm not doing much fancy this year, so try to rewear what I have...

Oh no — maybe you developed an allergy or something? I totally understand not wanting that to happen again.
I’m not sure if flip-flops are any more secure, but I do like the idea of mules as house shoes!

I always posts that are reflective rather than a myriad of links! Thanks for sharing what worked and didn't - I took am craving for all the texture.
Thank you so much! Reflecting really helps me make better choices 😊

And now you’ve identified exactly what you’re looking for :)
I love how doing this made it clearer what I actually would like to add.

I think corduroys will fit right into your wardrobe. And yes, new pieces should make you excited!
Will be interesting to see how many of these items I end up getting in November. Might already have bought one 🤭
Looking forward to seeing what you got!

Fingers crossed for your BF purchases! Both burgundy and silver shoes sounds like so much fun.
The croc belt is amazing and I love your list but I’m kind of mad at you for bringing the Soeur jacket to my attention, haha!
Luckily for your budget (and mine!) the soeur jacket is sold out. If you want to look for it second hand, it's called the Gamma jacket.

I actually put the shirt on today for wearing at home, but my mood immediately lowered, so I ended up taking it off again 🤷♀️
That stinks!!

Love ALL of this. And it absolutely matters. Xo
